Auto-Theft.info Teams with Winner International to Recognize volunteer Auto Theft Prevention Specialists in Tarrant County Texas

(New York, NY) ---- July 26, 2002 ---- Auto-Theft.info, the leading on-line auto theft information clearinghouse, and Winner International, LLC, makers of The Club®, the No. 1 selling vehicle anti-theft device recognize a trio of police volunteers in Tarrant County Texas as the "Auto Theft Heroes of the Month."

Each month Auto-Theft.info reviews news articles and submitted recommendations from its affiliated partners to select an individual who has performed heroically in the battle against auto theft. The individual selected is awarded the honorary title of "Auto Theft Hero of the Month".

August 2002’s "Auto-Theft Hero Of The Month" award is shared by a team of 3 retired military veterans from the Fort Worth, Texas area. These "Heroes" have been volunteering over the past 5 years with the 33 member, award winning Tarrant Regional Auto Theft Task Force, led by Commander Jerry McCurry, and funded by the Texas Auto Theft Prevention Authority. These "Heroes" are: Ray Palmer, Rod Spotts, and Doug Ray.

All three Kiwanis Club members answered Commander McCurry’s request 5 years ago for volunteers to assist with the Auto Theft Task Force. All three have been a tremendous asset to the Auto Theft Task Force, lecturing to groups about the problem of auto theft and how to reduce the chances of losing your vehicle to thieves. They can often be found at the mall handing out information in the Task Force Prevention Patrol Truck and providing free VIN-etch services to attendees.

Susan Sampson, Director of the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority comments, “We are very proud of the volunteers that have been trained in the efforts of reducing auto theft in Tarrant County. They have developed tremendous expertise in auto theft prevention techniques and I would like to thank them for being such an integral part of the ATPA family.”

As part of their award, each Auto Theft Hero will receive a complimentary Club anti-theft device from Winner International.
